The TSA invites research applications for the following types of funding:

Junior Fellowships

TSA Fellowships awarded to outstanding scientists who are in the early stages of their career (no more than 8 years of post-doctoral experience) and who have the potential to become leaders in the field of TSC research.

Who can apply?

Please carefully read our guidance for applicants. Applicants must be associated with an established researcher/sponsor in a UK university department or similar research environment. Applications will be judged on the quality of the research proposal, the quality of the candidate, the sponsor and the training provided. Short-listed applicants will be interviewed.

Value and length of award

The basic salary requested should be commensurate with the applicant’s skills, responsibilities, expertise and experience, up to a maximum of £38,000 per annum. Research expenses will be funded, up to a maximum of £10,000 per year. The TSA will normally fund on the basis of 80 per cent of the full economic cost of your research to your institution. Your application should detail 100 per cent of the full economic cost throughout. Funding is for a maximum of 3 years with the opportunity to apply for an extension.

Project grants

Our project grants are designed to be flexible enough to support a wide range of research. TSA project grants are suitable for focused research projects and can be awarded for any period of time up to three years. Applications will be judged on scientific merit and relevance to TSC and should be in-line with our research strategy. More information about our research strategy can be found at: www……..(ink).

Who can apply?

Any UK-based researcher based within an established UK university department or similar research environment. Please carefully read our guidance for applicants.

Value and length of award

The TSA will normally fund on the basis of 80 per cent of the full economic cost of your research to your institution. Your application should detail 100 per cent of the full economic cost throughout. The total value of a project grant will not exceed £180K over 3 years.
